چکیده

This study assessed landslide susceptibility in Shahpur valley, situated the eastern Hindu Kush. Here, landslides are recurrent phenomena that disrupt natural environment, and almost every year, they cause huge property damages human losses. These expected to escalate area due high rate of deforestation region, population growth, agricultural expansion, infrastructural development on slopes. Landslide was by applying “weight evidence” (WoE) “information value” (IV) models. For this, past areas were identified mapped SPOT5 satellite image verified from frequent field visits remove ambiguities initial inventory. Seven contributing factors including surface geology, fault lines, slope aspect gradient, land use, proximity roads streams based indigenous knowledge studied scientific literature. The relationship occurrence with calculated using WoE IV maps generated both results showed very susceptible zone covered an 14.49% 12.84% according models, respectively. Finally, resultant validated success prediction curves, seed cell index (SCAI), R-index approaches. curve at 80.34% for 80.13% model. 83.34 85.13%, SCAI similar performance models mapping. result shows value LS 29.64% model, it 31.21% Based elements risk, a vulnerability map prepared hazards lower parts valley. Similarly, hazard combined, risk generated. According map, 5.5% under while 2% high-risk zone. It found analysis assessing susceptibility, suitable applicable Kush region.

Predicting the susceptibility of landslide occurrence in order to manage landslide risk in Bar Neyshabur watershed

Background and objective: Landslide susceptibility zoning using different methods is one of the landslide management strategies. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the landslides susceptibility in the Bar watershed in Khorasan Razavi province using the support vector machine (SVM) algorithm. Method: First, the landslide layer of the area was corrected through field visits and Google Earth...
